The Festival of Words in Moose Jaw, July 19th through 22nd, was a remarkable event and Hagios Press wishes to congratulate the Festival board, the many volunteers and of course a big bouquet goes to Gary Hyland, the Artistic Director of this years Festival. Of course Gary is also a Hagios Press author and while he wasn't featured a this years festival copies of his new book Hands Reaching in Water were made available by bookseller The Oak & Rose.
Hagios authors who wee a part of the program were Doris Bircham, Lorna Crozier, and Allan Safarik. By Sunday morning all of Lorna Crozier's titles including Bones in Their Wings had been sold out. Allan Safarik shared two readings with humorist, broadcaster and Howard Glassman. The Al and Howard show was one of the most popular events at the Festival and Safarik sold over twenty copies of his memoir, Notes from the Outside: Episodes from and Unconventional Life. Doris Bircham (author of Where Blue Grama Grows) shared two wonderful readings with Saskatoon poet Katharine Lawrence, as well as giving a stand-out performance at the "Rhyming Wranglers" event following the "Wind-up Lunch" on Sunday.
Again a warm congratulation to everyone involved in this years amazingly successful Festival of Words.
