Festival Report

The Festival of Words in Moose Jaw, July 19th through 22nd, was a remarkable event and Hagios Press wishes to congratulate the Festival board, the many volunteers and of course a big bouquet goes to Gary Hyland, the Artistic Director of this years Festival. Of course Gary is also a Hagios Press author and while he wasn't featured a this years festival copies of his new book Hands Reaching in Water were made available by bookseller The Oak & Rose. [...]

Trussler Featured at Post Graduate Conference

Hagios Press author Michael Trussler will be a featured reader at "Literary Eclectic 3" a joint conference of the English graduate students from the University of Regina and the University of Saskatchewan. Gary Hyland Honoured by Sask Writers Guild

On October 12th the Saskatchewan Writers Guild (SWG) paid tribute to Gary Hyland (Hagios author; Hands Reaching in Water) for his many achievements by renaming its volunteer leadership award after him. A luncheon hosted by SWG president Robert Calder at the SWG's fall AGM and conference announced the renaming and presented the first Hyland Award to Ken Mitchell, a long time SWG volunteer and Regina author. New Website Proclaims Hyland as The Poet's Poet

Gary Hyland has been writing and publishing in Saskatchewan since the 60's. With his poetry and his generosity, he has touched and changed (for the better) many other poets.
