This workshop is for poets who are looking to move their manuscript writing process forward in a short period of time. This workshop is designed to get you writing toward completion of a manuscript and give you a new perspective on the quickly changing publishing environment for poets. The workshop will cover strategies for structuring a poetry manuscript and will provide feedback on new work created during the workshop.
With sixteen workshop hours, and take home assignments, participants are expected to create a portfolio of over twenty new pages of poetry. The workshop offers a small-class environment, as well as a close edit of ten new pages in an editing session with the workshop leader.
Participants will complete the workshop with the groundwork laid for a strong poetry manuscript and a better understanding of how you might market a finished manuscript.
The Hagios Sessions are a series of workshops presented by Hagios Press and will focus on creating new work while also discussing the current mechanics of publication and the publishing industry.
Paul Wilson is an award winning poet, who has had four collections of poetry published. He has also edited over thirty titles, including the anthology "Fast Forward: New Saskatchewan Poets (with Barbara Klar). He has presented workshops to writers at every level of development. In 2011 he was an Artist Animateur for SaskCulture and presented writing workshops to adults and students throughout Southern Saskatchewan. He is the managing Editor, and a Co-publisher at Hagios Press in Regina.

Application Requirements: Must have a minimum of 30 pages written toward a completed poetry manuscript.
Submission Requirements: Application Letter with address and e-mail. Five poems and a literary resume.
Enrollment: This workshop will have a maximum enrollment of ten participants and a minimum enrollment of seven participants. Hagios Press reserves the right to cancel the workshop if the minimum enrollment is not met.
